ZAPATA, TEXAS---Manuel Benavides, Jr., passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at his residence in Zapata, Texas.

Mr. Benavides is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Clara Benavides; cousin, Jose Maria Pena and his paternal grandparents, Jose and Felicitas Salazar Benavides.

Mr. Benavides is survived by his wife, Leonor G. Benavides; sisters, Irma B. Lopez, Sylvia B. Quiroga; niece, Iliana Lopez; nephew, Rafael Lopez; sister-in-law, Rosalva (Mario) Chavez and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a vigil at 7 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession will depart on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 9:45 a.m. for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
