ZAPATA, TEXAS— Manuel M. Garcia 88, passed away on September 13, 2024, at his residence in Zapata, Texas.

Mr. Garcia is preceded in death by his wife, Irene T. Garcia; parents, Serapio and Maria Blanca Garcia; brothers, Serapio Garcia Jr., Eulogio Garcia and Jesus Garcia; sister, Elia (Ruben) Zapata.

Mr. Garcia is survived by his wife, Enedelia V. Garcia; sons, Manuel M. (San Juanita) Garcia Jr., Refugio (C.G. Ann) Garcia, Daniel Mercado, Roberto A. (Katherine) Salinas; daughters, Maricela (Bernardo) Garcia, Cynthia Y. (Roy) Salinas, Laura S. (Javier) Flores, Myriam (Arturo) Garcia and Maritza (Charlie) Herrera; 33  grandchildren and 42 greatgrandchildren; brother, Juan (Hortencia) Garcia; sister, Rosa Nelia (†Anselmo) Trevino; sisters-in-law; Micaela Garcia and Viola Garcia and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours were held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

On Thursday, September 19, 2024, we opened at 8 a.m. the funeral procession departed at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. funeral mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services followed at Zapata County Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Rose Garden Funeral Home Daniel A. Gonzalez, Funeral Director, 2102 N. US HWY 83 Zapata, Texas.
