ZAPATA, TEXAS—Louis A. Pollard 70, passed away on Tuesday September 3, 2024, at his home in Zapata, Texas.

Mr. Pollard is preceded in death by his father, Sunbean Petis Pollard; mother, Ella Mae Nelson; daughter, Tomethra P. Pollard; grandchildren, Courtney Owens, Devonte Pollard; brother, Rufus Pollard; sisters, Pauline Rideaux, Alfreda Drones and Diane William.

Mr. Pollard is survived by his son; Artavian O. Pollard; daughter, Sharon J. Owens; grandchildren, Joel Pollard, Noah Pollard, Razul Pollard, Curtis Owens Jr., Ivory Hudson, Joshua O'Donnell; brothers Leonard Nelson, John Nelson, Willie C. Nelson, Terry Pollard; sister, Lillie Mae Nelson; cousin, Vanessa Worsham and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Mr. Pollard served in both the United States Army and the United States Air Force. A graveside service followed by military honors was held Friday, October 25, 2024, at 10:45 a.m.  at The Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas. If you attended the service at the Houston National Cemetery cars you lined up at 10:30 a.m. on Lane 2.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Rose Garden Funeral Home Daniel A. Gonzalez, Funeral Director, 2102 N. US HWY 83 Zapata, Texas.
