ZAPATA, TX---Laura Elizabeth (Laurita) Garcia Granger was born into this life on October 6, 1972. Laura entered eternal life, into the loving arms of God on December 13, 2021; at the young age of 49 surrounded by the loves of her life, including her husband, two young sons, and numerous family members who adored her.

Laura was a Proud Member of the Graduating Class of 1991 of Zapata High School, and a Year 2000 Graduate of Texas A&M International University.

Those closest to Laura, knew how she loved. She loved God, not only did she show it through her unwavering faith, but she was a true woman of God. She loved her husband of 12 years, Billy Joe with an unmeasurable amount of love; she not only loved, but truly adored her sons Matthew and Trevor. She loved her brothers Romeo, Johnny and Mikey with an unconditional love and her sister Juanita and her entire family. She loved helping people through her work as an occupational therapist, she loved her coworkers and she loved her patients. Laura loved the beauty of life itself, every single day. She loved taking trips with all three of her boys, and capturing memories through pictures. Laurita was genuinely a kind soul, with a kind word for anyone she came across. Throughout her battle with cancer she never complained, and fought every obstacle with a smile on her face and faith in her heart. Laura was an amazing mother and wife, she continuously put those whom she adored and loved above herself. Laurita was selfless and never fearful, but instead was consoled by the word of God daily. Laura left a little bit of sparkle, on any soul that was lucky enough to be graced by her angelical presence.

Her family has been deeply touched by the outpouring of prayers, condolences and wonderful memories of her life since her passing. As a family, they have pictured Laurita walking the streets of gold in heaven accompanied by our God that she believed in so strongly.

Laura is preceded in death by her father Romeo Mario Garcia and maternal Grandmother Maria G. Garcia.

Laura is survived and will be deeply missed by her husband Billy Joe Granger, her sons Matthew Cole Granger and Trevor Allen Granger. She is also survived by her mother Elizabeth Diaz Rios (Nilo), brothers Romeo Mario Garcia (Lori Sue), Juan Elias Garcia (Wilda), Michael Joe Garcia (Juan F.) and sister Juanita Yvonne Cabrera (Hector). She is also survived by her In-laws, Billy B. and Cynthia Granger, Brother in Law Jim B. Granger (Fenny), and Sister in Law Vanessa Porras (David). Laura is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, family members and friends.

Services will be held in her honor at Rose Garden Funeral Home, Zapata, Texas on Saturday December 18, 2021. The Family will be receiving visitors at 9:00 a.m., with a 10:30 a.m. chapel service to be held in the Rose Garden Funeral Home Chapel, with services ending at 12pm.
