ZAPATA, TEXAS- Laura "Lala" Cruz 47, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas.

Lala is preceded in death by her daughter, Nubia A. Salazar; parents, Aurelio and Esperanza Medina Cruz.

Lala is survived by her daughters, Miracle Zavala, Deserray Zavala, Faith Salazar, Sophia Gonzalez; brothers, Aurelio Jr. (Vanessa L.) Cruz, Jonathan (Melissa) Cruz, Aurelio (Bertha) Cruz; sisters, Martha (Pedro) Lagos, Claudia E. Cruz, Patty (Uriel) Sanchez, Esmeralda (Gustavo) Ayala, Theresa Cruz (Angel Hernandez) and by numerous other family members and  friends.

In Leur of flowers monetary donations can be made at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. with a Chapel Service at 10:30 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
