ZAPATA, TEXAS---Kim A. Johnson 74, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Doctor's Hospital in Laredo, Texas.

Kim is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie William and Vera Marie Johnson and a brother, Dennis L. Johnson.

Kim is survived by his wife, Jan L. Johnson; son, Mark L. (Angela) Johnson; granddog, Kelly; sister, Janice (Dave) Kuhn; nieces, Sherry Kuhn, Cari Johnson, Tracy Wagner, Suzie (Wade) Opland; nephew, Steve (Karen) Kuhn and by numerous Johnsons cousins other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with a chapel service at 10:30 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

Kim Johnson was born in Moline, IL to Brick and Vera Johnson. Kim graduated from Moline High School in 1961 and attended the University of Illinois then moved to Minneapolis where he met Jan Carlson, they married in April 17, 1976. Kim graduated from University of Minnesota in 1981.

Kim had numerous of hobbies which including stock car racing, amateur radio operation, wood working, camping, fishing and enjoyed fix just about anything that would come his way.

After retirement he became a Winter Texan in Zapata, Texas and made numerous friends, he volunteered at The VFW Post 7768 and The Falcon Lake Babes.
