ZAPATA, TEXAS---Juventino Flores, Sr. 87, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020 at McAllen Medical Center in McAllen, Texas.

In the early hours of Friday, Jan 24th, beloved husband, father, and grandfather Mr. Juventino Flores departed from this Earth gaining his wings to Heaven. Mr. Flores was an active member of the community of Zapata serving in many capacities. He served the Zapata County Independent School District as President and member of the school board. He was a member of the Zapata National Bank board, and a Lions Club member.  He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Mr. Flores was a proud Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, an avid golfer, a hardworking rancher, and a dedicated family man. He will be greatly missed as he was greatly loved. May he rest in the arms of our Lord forevermore.

Mr. Flores is preceded in death by his parents, Leonardo and Eugenia Flores brother, Leonardo G. (Ofelia) Flores and a sister, Iris Astrid Flores.

Mr. Flores is survived by his wife, Lucila G. Flores; sons, Daniel C. (Triana) Flores, Tino Flores, Jr.; grandchildren, Daniel C. Flores, Jr., Lilyana E. Flores and a sister, Salome (†Angel) Flores and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2020, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a vigil at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession will depart on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 9:45 a.m. for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery, including full Military Honors by the American Legion Post 486 Color Guard.
