ZAPATA, TEXAS---Juan Valdez 58, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas.

Mr. Valdez is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Elena Valdez and his sister, Rosa Maria Hurtado.

Mr. Valdez is survived by his son, Juan Valdez, Jr.; daughter, Josefina Valdez; grandchildren, Alberta (Rolando) Soto, Rey Roy Solis, Alejandro Peña, Erik Castellanos; great-grandchildren, Yamilet Soto, Tatiana Soto, Rolando Soto, Jr. and by numerous other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at 8 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession will depart at 10:30 a.m. for an 11 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
