ZAPATA, TEXAS---Jose Corando Thatcher, Sr. 71, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at home surrounded by family.

Mr. Thatcher is preceded in death by his still born son, Eric Thatcher; father, Juan Thatcher, mother, Paula Thatcher; brother, Oscar (Zulema Garza) Thatcher; sister, Omedi Thatcher; brothers-in-law, Fernando Morales and Francisco Caballero; father-in-law, Felipe Morales and mother-in-law, Antonia Morales.

Mr. Thatcher is survived by his wife, Gloria M. Thatcher; sons, Jose Corando, Jr. (Maria Guadalupe) Thatcher, Ricardo Thatcher; grandchildren, Michael David Thatcher, Jonathan Thatcher, Amanda Renee Thatcher, Brenda Marie Thatcher, Alessandra Rae Thatcher; great-granddaughter, Brianna Marie Alaniz; brothers, Juan Jr. (Petrita) Thatcher, Derly (Arlina) Thatcher, Rudy (Elisa) Thatcher; sisters, Maria Elena (†Adrian III) Ramirez, Viola (Sergio) Garcia, Yolanda (Joel Pacheco) Thatcher; brothers-in-law, Ismael Morales, Felipe (Rosita) Morales, Jr., Braulio (Sylvia) Morales, Efrain (Leticia) Morales, sisters-in-law, Olga M. (Humberto) Perez, Adelaida M. Piña, Yolanda M. (Armando) De Los Santos, Amada M. (Sherman) Thompson, Antonia M. (Hugo) Guzman, Isabel M. (Javier) Lerma and Amanda B. Caballero and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Due to COVID19 pandemic, family will be having an immediate family service on Saturday, August 15, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home. Extended family and friends are invited to join the family in procession and for the graveside service at Zapata County Cemetery. Procession will depart at 10 a.m. from Rose Garden Funeral Home.
