ZAPATA, TEXAS---Jose A. Sanchez 89, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018, at his residence in Zapata, Texas.

Mr. Sanchez is preceded in death by his parents, Jose T. and Francisca Sanchez; granddaughter, Perla Y. Obregon; sisters, Irma (Reymundo) Rendon and Alicia Sanchez.

Mr. Sanchez is survived by his wife, Amanda G. Sanchez; sons, Jose R. (†Ester) Sanchez, Emilio J. (Nelda) Sanchez, Cesar O. (Maria) Sanchez, Mario A. (San Juana) Sanchez, Osiel G. Sanchez, Juan G. (Marla Karina) Sanchez; daughters, Amanda G. (Juan A.) Valadez; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Maurilio (Julia) Sanchez, Hector M. Sanchez, Rene (†Francisca) Sanchez; sister, Maria Marta Sanchez and by numerous nephews, nieces, other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a vigil at 7 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession will depart on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
