ZAPATA, TEXAS---Jose E. Alaniz "Kike" 72, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Doctor's Hospital in Edinburg, Texas.

Mr. Alaniz is preceded in death by his parents, Enrique and Eugenia Alaniz; brother, Roel Alaniz and sisters, Enriqueta (Cenovio) Lara and Socorro Alaniz.

Mr. Alaniz is survived by his wife, Maria G. Alaniz; sons, Misael (Maria) Alaniz, Mario (Norma) Gonzalez, Lee Roy Alaniz; daughters, Edna Ortiz, Mirna Alaniz, Erika Alaniz; sixteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brothers, Sergio (Rosa E.) Alaniz, Israel (Enedina) Alaniz, Adan (†Yolanda) Alaniz, Eloy Alaniz, Juan Alaniz; sisters, Rosa (†Francisco) Escamilla, Dora Martinez, Irma (Guadalupe) Carmona, San Juana (Javier) Gonzalez and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a vigil at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession will depart on Monday, August 30, 2021at 9:45 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
