ZAPATA, TEXAS---Joel Rodriguez 71, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas.

Mr. Rodriguez is preceded in death by parents, Jose Mario and Maria Alicia Rodriguez; brothers, Enoc Rodriguez, Jose Antonio "Tony" Rodriguez and a sister, Rosa Rodriguez.

Mr. Rodriguez is survived by his wife, Virginia Rodriguez; son, Joel Jr. (Mayra) Rodriguez; daughters, Mary (Javier) Flores, Claudia (Homero) Garcia; grandchildren, Yasmin Rodriguez, Yamileth Rodriguez, Nancy Guzman (Arturo Coronado), Enrique (Darcy) Guzman, Ashley Flores, Javier (Maribel) Flores Jr., Melissa D. Hinojosa (Arturo Sanchez), Homero Garcia Jr., Angel Garcia, Santiago Garcia; great-grandchildren, Kymberly Coronado, Arturo Joel Coronado, Krystal Coronado, Jesus Eden Aranda Jr.; brothers, Oscar Mario (†Victoria) Rodriguez; sisters, Eunice (†Rafael) Moreno, Blanca (†Ramon) Vasquez; sister-in-law, Maria Ignacia Rodriguez and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a vigil at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

On Saturday, January 20, 2024 we will open at 8:00 a.m. and the funeral procession will depart at 9:45 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
