Zapata, Texas – Jesus J. Esparza (Jesse) June 22, 1974 – January 5, 2025

Jesus J. Esparza, lovingly known as Jesse, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas, at the age of 50. Though he made his home in San Antonio, Jesse held a deep connection to his hometown of Zapata, where he was a cherished and frequent visitor.

Jesse was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Mary Morin Esparza, and his parents, Isaias and Mary Frances Gutierrez.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by his wife, Yilsa Y. De Los Santos; his three children, Anissa N. Garcia, Jesus J. Esparza, Jr., and Andrea Y. Esparza, who were his pride and joy; and his siblings, Paula (Edelmiro) Santos, Debra (+Tony) Cortez, Susana (Gilberto) Montalvo, and Isaias Gutierrez, Jr. Jesse also held a special place in his heart for his nephews, nieces and numerous family members.

Jesse's hard-work, warmth, kindness, and humor touched the lives of countless friends and chosen families, in both Zapata and San Antonio, who will deeply miss his presence.

Visitation hours will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

On Saturday, January 11, 2025, we will open at 8:00 A.M. and will depart at 9:30 A.M. for a 10:00 A.M. mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
