Jesse Bello, Sr. 74, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Audie L. Murphy Memorial Veteran's Hospital in San Antonio, TX surrounded by his loving family.

Bello served his country proudly in our U.S. Air Force and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He retired after 34 years with the U.S. Postal Service as a supervisor. He also served as Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus #10434 for several years when he committed to the Fourth Degree Knights Assembly where he reached the highest, most prestigious degree. Bello was also active with the A.C.T.S. ministry and with the Child Advocates San Antonio, where he and his wife were Team Advocates for abused and neglected children.

Mr. Bello is preceded in death by his mother Hortencia Medina, brothers, (twin) Jose Bello (Sylvia), Juan Mercado, Carlos Mercado, Lauro Mercado, sister, Teresa Medina and grandson Aaron, Rene Espinoza.

Mr. Bello is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Marina Bello, his sons, Christopher Bello, Jesse Bello, Jr. (Betty), Josiah Bello; his brothers Daniel Mercado, Romeo Mercado (Claudia); sisters, Rosalinda Medina, and Rosalva Mercado (Roberto); mother-in-law Mary L. Gallardo, brother-in-law Joe L. Gonzales, sister-in-law Wendi Mercado and by numerous cousins nephews, nieces, grandchildren and Godchildren.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Mercado, Jose Bello, Bryan Bello, Roberto Gonzalez, Romeo Mercado and Josiah Bello.

A viewing will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. with a rosary at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Zapata County Cemetery, including full Military Honors by the American Legion Post 486 Color Guard and Laughlin Air Force Base.
