ZAPATA, TEXAS---Javier Tovar 71, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas.

Mr. Tovar is preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Florinda Tovar; brothers, Rodolfo Tovar and Armando Tovar and a sister, Yolanda Ambriz.

Mr. Tovar is survived by his wife of 52 years Maria Olga Tovar; son, Francisco J. (Sandra) Tovar; daughters, Maribel (Hector) Garcia, San Juanita Tovar (Francisco Flores); grandchildren, Rosa Isela Garcia, Luis J. Tovar (Brianna Maldonado), Alexandra G. Tovar, Jessie H. Garcia, Francisco J. Tovar, Jr., Francisco J. Flores, Jr., Jennifer I. Tovar, Victor M. Flores; great-grandchildren, Adrian Campos, Luis J. Tovar, Jr., Liam D. Tovar; sisters, Alba (Antonio) Gonzalez, Consuelo (Carlos) Rodriguez, Blanca (Ricardo) Martinez and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a vigil at 7 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession will depart on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 9:45 a.m. for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
