ZAPATA, TEXAS---Javier Serna 70, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024 in  Zapata, Texas.

Mr. Serna is preceded in death by his parents, Leopoldo and Guadalupe Serna and brother, Ernesto Serna.

Mr. Serna is survived by his daughters, Esmeralda Serna, Alma (Jose Luis) Arroyo; grandchildren, Celeste Esparza, Luis Arroyo, Monserrat Esparza, Mia Sofia Esparza, Julian Arroyo; brothers, Jesus (Berta) Serna, Leopoldo (†Juana) Serna, Victor (Susana) Serna; sisters, Maria A. (Juan) Cantu, Patricia (†Jorge) Moncivais, Maria Magdalena (†Felipe) Melendez, Maria G. (Rudy) Benavides, Delia (Angel) De Leon, Yolanda (†Candelario) Garza, Blanca (Roberto) Cantu; sister-in-law, Estela Serna and by numerous other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. with a chapel service at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Zapata County Cemetery.
