ZAPATA,TX- Irma Inez Guerra, 52, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on December 22, 2025.  "Mimi", as everyone knew her, was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and grandmother who treasured the love of her family. Mimi was a warrior that fought a courageous battle with her beautiful smile and family by her side.

At the age of 21, Irma married the love of her life, Clyde Guerra, Jr.  They were inseparable and went on to raise three beautiful children together.  Mimi's passion always revolved around her family and children.  Her favorite was always attending her children's sporting events, especially their golf tournaments.  Her advice to her children when they were competing was simple, "Have Fun and Smile."  Most recently, Mimi was a proud grandmother to Clyde Guerra, IV.

Mimi was a proud member of the ZHS Class of 1991.  She went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree from Texas A&M International University and her Masters Degree from the University of Texas at Brownsville. She was a dedicated member of the Zapata County ISD Team for 30 years, as a business teacher, testing coordinator, and PEIMS Director.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carlos G. Gonzalez.

Mimi is survived by her husband of 31 years, Clyde Guerra, Jr.; Her three children Clyde Guerra, III (Kelsie), Idalinda Pena (Aaron), and Caleb Guerra; Grandson, Clyde Guerra, IV; Mother, Rosalinda Gonzalez; Brothers Carlos G. Gonzalez, Jr. (Elizabeth), David E. Gonzalez (Erica); In-laws Clyde and Elva Guerra; Sisters in-law, Laura Hunt (Roy), Elva Garcia (Mario), Elsa Guerra (Alberto); Brothers in-law, Danny Guerra (Jackie), Lauro Guerra; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Clyde Guerra, III, Caleb Guerra, Aaron Pena, Carlos G. Gonzalez, Jr., David E. Gonzalez, Danny Guerra, and Lauro Guerra.

Visitation hours will be on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. with a rosary at 9:30 a.m.  The funeral procession will depart at 10:30 a.m. for 11:00 a.m. funeral mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Committal services will follow at the Zapata County Cemetery.
