ZAPATA, TEXAS---Irene Gutierrez 87, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018 at her residence in Zapata, Texas.

Ms. Gutierrez is preceded in death by her husband, Benigno "Nino" Gutierrez; son, Romeo Gutierrez and numerous brothers and sisters.

Ms. Gutierrez is survived by her sons, Jose Luis (Maria) Gutierrez, Pedro A. (Francisca) Gutierrez, Rene (Benita) Gutierrez, Juan Carlos (Maria Guadalupe) Gutierrez; daughters, Amanda (†Domingo) Gonzalez, Alicia (†Antonio) Balderas, Irene G. (Jesus) Hernandez, Araceli (†Juan O.) Molina, Alma Gloria (Victor) Garcia and by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a vigil at 7 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession will depart on Monday, September 17, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at the Zapata County Cemetery.
