ZAPATA, TEXAS---Humberto Botello Jr. 70, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, April 29, 2023 in Zapata, Texas.

Mr. Botello is preceded in death by his parents, Humberto and Paula J. Botello and his brother, Francisco Botello.

Mr. Botello is survived by his wife and caregiver of 46 years, Martha B. Botello; son, Humberto Botello III; daughter, Marthalinda Botello; grandchildren, Humberto IV, Denise A., Danika J., Brenden J. Botello; brother, Andres (Virginia) Botello; sisters, Adriana Botello, Ale Botello, Maricela Hernandez (Ambrosio Garza), Lourdes (Luis) Arcos; aunt, Brijida (†Angel) Paredes and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

He started his career with Zapata Co. Volunteer Department for 8 years and he then transferred to Zapata Co. Sanitation Department where he retired after 28 years.

Mr. Botello had an amazing sense of humor and had a great Love for his family and unusual taste for music especially his favorite singer Augustin Ramirez. He enjoyed playing gigs as a DJ for Botello Sound System. He was a warrior and broke all kind of records being a dialysis patient for 20 years and by his emotional support Dog Charlie.

Visitation hours will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a vigil at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

On Saturday, May 6, 2023 we will open at 8:00 a.m. and the funeral procession will depart at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
