ZAPATA, TEXAS---Honorable Judge David Morales 83, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas.

Mr. Morales served in the Military and also owned and operated Morales Drilling Company since 1970 to 2020. Mr. Morales served as Zapata County Commissioner for 16 years and then served as Zapata County Judge for 2 terms.

Mr. Morales is preceded in death by his parents, Albino and Maria Morales; brother, Octavio Morales; sister, Idalia M. (Guillermo) Garcia and a sister-in-law, Enedina (Ricardo) Bustamante.

Mr. Morales is survived by his wife, Aminta L. Morales; daughters, Leticia Morales Lara, Martha Morales (Mario Saenz, Jr.), Melissa M. (Raymond III) Moya; grandchildren, Marisa Barradas, Maria San Juanita "Janie" Lara, Jose Armando Lara, Jr., Aminta Y. Lara, Mario R. Salinas, Jr., Jacqueline A. Salinas, David Ray Moya, Raymond Moya IV, Ryan Ray Moya; great-grandchildren, Rodrigo Espinoza, Liliana Espinoza, Jose Solis, Jr., Mario Solis, Mia Ortiz, Armani J. Lara, Maryam Lara, Jlani Valadez, J.C. Valadez, Avery Valadez, David Ray Moya, Jr., brothers, Romeo (Altagracia) Morales, Edelmiro (Arlina) Morales; sister-in-law, Irene "Nena" (†Lauro) Bustamante and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession will depart on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 9:45 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery, including full Military Honors by the Zapata County Color Guard.
