ZAPATA, TEXAS---Homero Garcia, 76, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018.

Mr. Garcia is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Edna Gonzalez-Garcia; parents, Margarito and Julia Garcia; and brother, Miguel Garcia.


Mr. Garcia is survived by his sons, Omar (Wanda) Garcia, Juan M. (Jeanette) Garcia; grandchildren, Lobo S., Sahara I., Alexander X., Raphael Z., and Olivia Garcia; brothers, Pedro (Maria) Garcia, Jorge (Paula) Garcia; sisters, Sylvia Garcia, Nilda Scrivner; sister in law, Maria Antonia Garcia and by numerous nephews, nieces, other family members and friends.

Visitation hours were held on Monday, February 5, 2018, from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession departed at 10:45 a.m. for an 11 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services followed at Zapata County Cemetery, including full Military Honors by the American Legion Post 486 Color Guard.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Rose Garden Funeral Home Daniel A. Gonzalez, Funeral Director, 2102 N. US HWY 83 Zapata, Texas.
