ZAPATA, TEXAS---Gloria Melendez viuda de Martinez 98, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas.

Ms. Martinez is preceded in death by her husband, Baltazar Martinez Ramirez; son, Hector Martinez Melendez; sisters, Gertudes Melendez (Juan) Torres, Rosaura Melendez (Francisco) Mendoza and Elvira Melendez (Casimiro) Guerra.

Ms. Martinez is survived by her sons, Mario (Zolia) Martinez, Hugo (†Odilia) Martinez; daughters, Maria Elena (†Maximo) Gonzalez, Gloria Martinez Melendez; twenty grandchildren, forty-three great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Estela (†Jose) Mendoza, Maria Antonia (†Walter) Stubing and by numerous other family members and friends.

Visitation hours were held on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 8 a.m. with a chapel service at 10 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

Committal services followed at Zapata County Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Rose Garden Funeral Home Daniel A. Gonzalez, Funeral Director, 2102 N. US HWY 83 Zapata, Texas.
