ZAPATA, TEXAS---Gloria V. Salinas 79 years, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at Starr County Memorial Hospital in Rio Grande City, Texas.

Mrs. Salinas is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Salinas; parents, Manuelita and Bernardo Villarreal; sons, Oscar Salinas Jr., Ramiro Salinas; grandson, Roberto Salinas Jr., Baby Ariana G. Gonzalez; brothers, Bernardo Villarreal Jr., Bobby Villarreal; sister, Lupe Moore; sister-in-law, Aminta Villarreal; nephew, Roberto Villarreal Jr.

Mrs. Salinas is survived by her son, Roberto (Paula) Salinas; daughters, Gloria (Juan) Chavez, Susie Sanchez; grandchildren, Juan Chavez Jr. (Oriana), Dennis Chavez (Ryan), Crystal Chavez, Jessica (Michael) Delgado, Ramiro Salinas (Jasmin), Elena (Aaron) McGuire, Roland (Patty) Salinas, Rebecca (Samuel) Sosa, Oscar II (Beatriz) Salinas, Gabriel (Jenefer) Salinas, Patricia (Lauro) Gonzalez, Matthew, Sara, Cristina; brother, Roberto Villarreal; sister, Viola Garcia; great-grandchildren, Victoria, Rachel, Maya, Juliana, Olivia, Gabriel Jr., Danielle, Cristal, Roberto, Crystal, Cristobel, Raquenel, Isaiah, Alaiah, Leann, Leandro, Luisito Salinas, Daymein, Radek, Reklan, Reaqane, Khloe, Jorge, Jacob, Anthony, Jaelynn and by numerous other family members and friends.

Our mom was the best cook ever on making tamales and menudo, she will be greatly missed.

Visitation hours will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a vigil at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

On Friday, September 8, 2023 we will open at 8:00 a.m. and the funeral procession will depart at 9:45 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
