ZAPATA, TEXAS---Glenda Rose Lietz, 78, passed away April 16, 2020, peacefully at the home. Glenda was born September 29, 1942, Howard Raymond Lietz, 90, passed away on April 18, 2020 in nursing home in Zapata, Texas. This was a true Love Story from their beginning to the end - Howard didn't want to leave Glenda and when Glenda died Howard didn't want to stick around anymore. Who could ever have written a story like theirs but God from the throne room of Heaven? Those who knew Glenda well -know she was probably telling God how to get Howard's dinner place ready at the Lord's Table; it had to be just right.

Glenda grew up in Manhattan, Ks and later moved to Denver, CO where she met and married Howard R. Lietz on April 10, 1970. Howard and Glenda then went to California there they joined the Wild Side and SURVIVED, motorcycles gangs, rallies, parties booze. After moving back to Denver, they attended Happy Church, and that's where they met Jesus Christ. On that day their lives would be changed and with a new direction forever. They gave away their home and belongings in Denver and started out in a motor home to Zapata, Texas to begin working in the mission's field. There they both resided till their physical death took them into internal life with Jesus in heaven.

They owned and operated Sunset Villa Winter Texan Resort, and attended Kingsway Church where they were part of the beginner founders of the church. Glenda led a woman's Aglow ministry; they were part of the Campers for Christ and traveled around the country with them, ministering to those who needed it.

Howard loved his motorcycle and once told me "You know the center line in the highway – that's for motorcycles". He also loved fishing, hunting but most of all he loved his dogs and Glenda.

They both loved their animals, Howard was always seen with a pack of dogs and Glenda, being raised on a farm just had that natural instinct to all 4 legged creatures. Glenda one time caught a tarantula for a cousin so she could use in her class room. She protected her chickens from those rattle snakes, killed quite a few at that. Her door was always open to someone in need and always ready to pray for all. You could say their favorite Hero was Jesus Christ and always wanted to go home with Him.

Glenda is preceded in death by her father, Frank Allen Miller, her bother Ernie Miller, her nephew Nick King. Survivors: include her mother Eleanor L. McKee (100 years young) , two sisters Lois D (Miller) King, Cathy (Miller)Plaster, two brothers, Luckey Miller, Eldon Miller, one son, Mike Skroch and 1 daughter Donna Borgwardt, 3 granddaughters, so many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Howard is preceded in death by his father and mother Survivors: 3 daughters, Melody (Richard) Pozerl, Renee (Gary) Van Dyke, Michelle (Greg) Holland , with several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Howard and Glenda will surely be missed by so many friends they met along their journey of life spreading the love of Jesus in Zapata, Texas. They truly had the heart of Texas, as Glenda and Howard were often heard saying "You don't mess with Texas". Howard and Glenda had become a TEXANS for sure.

More there was anything else Glenda and Howard could say. It would be for you to invite Jesus into your heart. You can't get into heaven by being good it's only by asking Jesus to come live in your heart. Then you'll join them in Heaven. John 3:16

Kingsway Church, Zapata, TX will be having a memorial service – unknown at time please contact them.
