ZAPATA, TEXAS---Gilberto "Pito" Martinez 58, passed away on July 1, 2024, at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas.

Mr. Martinez is preceded in death by his father, Martin Martinez; brother, Jorge Martinez; brother in-law, Rogelio Martinez.; father in-law Daniel Paredes.

Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife, Debra A. Paredes; son, Patrick M. Martinez; mother, Elvia Lydia Martinez; brothers, Jose J. Martinez, Gabriel A. Martinez, Juan L. Martinez; sister, Victoriana Martinez; mother in-law, Mary A. Paredes; brother in-law Daniel Paredes Jr. and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours were held on Monday July 15, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. with a chapel service at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

Committal service followed at Zapata County Cemetery

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Rose Garden Funeral Home Daniel A. Gonzalez, Funeral Director, 2102 N. US HWY 83 Zapata, Texas.
