ZAPATA, TEXAS— Fernando "Fene" Villarreal Jr. 62, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at his residence in Zapata, Texas.

Fene is preceded in death by his grandsons, Rael Angel Villarreal, Rolando Angel Villarreal; father, Fernando Villarreal, Father-in-law, Adan Olivares and nephew, Flumencio Munoz.

Fene is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elisa Villarreal, children, Fernando Villarreal III, Vanessa (Erasmo) Camacho, Ramiro (Tanya) Villarreal, Lorenzo (Amara) Villarreal, Ashley Villarreal; 11 grandchildren; mother, Evangelina Villarreal; brothers, Jorge Villarreal, Clara (Eddie) Donaghy; sisters, Manuela Villarreal, Leticia (Javier) Munoz, Rafael (Dinora) Villarreal, Jose Luis (Shanya) Villarreal and numerous other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, we will open at 8:00 a.m. and depart at 9:30 a.m. for a funeral mass at 10:30 at Our Lady of Refuge, San Ygnacio, Texas.

Committal services will follow at Martinez Cemetery.
