ZAPATA, TEXAS---Fernando Cuellar Jr. 56, passed away Friday, October 11, 2019 in Laredo, Texas.

Mr. Cuellar is preceded in death by his parents, Fernando and Eva Cuellar; and nephew, Cesar Cuellar Jr.

Mr. Cuellar is survived by his wife, Grizelda Velasquez; son, Fernando Jesus Cuellar III,; brother, Cesar Cuellar; sister's, Nelly Cuellar-Garcia, Belinda (Alfredo) Vela, Vianey (Keith) Martin, Wanda (Omar) Garcia, and numerous nephews, nieces, and by other family members and friends.

Mr. Cuellar was a proud member of Zapata High School Class of 1981.  He was a well recognized musician who played many instruments, the trumpet being his main one.  He played with many bands including Pobrezza and Little Joe y La Familia.

Visitation hours will be held on Monday, October 14, 2019, from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with a rosary at 9 a.m.   The funeral procession will depart at 10:30 a.m. for a 11 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
