LAREDO, TEXAS- It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Felipe Martinez, Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who passed away on February 26, 2025 at the age of 71.

Born and raised in Ramireño, TX, Felipe led a life filled with dedication, hard work, and love. Through every interaction, every visit, and every moment shared, it was evident that his love ran deep. His affection for his parents was equally profound, and their influence shaped his kind, respectful and hardworking nature.

Felipe dedicated his life to ranching, a passion passed down through generations. His hard work, integrity, and commitment to his ranch and his years of service as a United States Postal Service contractor were admired by all who knew him. He understood the ranch and his cattle in a way few could, and his connection to both was something truly special. His presence on the ranch was not just that of a caretaker, but a keeper of tradition and pride that ran through every part of his work. It is his love for the ranch that will continue to echo through the generations.

Felipe's untimely passing has left a void that words cannot fill. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit, legacy of love, determination, and strength will continue to inspire and live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Felipe, is preceded in death by his parents, Felipe and Delia Ramon Martinez.

Felipe is survived by his wife Tina U. Martinez; son, Felipe (Corina) Martinez III; daughter, Cristina (John) Benavidez; Grandchildren, Mateo G. Martinez, Katrina G. Garcia, Josiah Eduardo Benavidez, Jonah Evan Benavidez and by numerous family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Monday March 3, 2025, at Rose Garden Funeral Home. We will open from 6:00 p.m.to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m..

We will open on Tuesday March 4, 2025, at 8:00 a.m.  The funeral procession will depart at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. funeral mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Zapata, Texas.

Committal services will follow at Ramireño Cemetery.
