ZAPATA, TEXAS---Esperanza Medina-Cruz 68, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas.

Mrs. Medina-Cruz is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Ofelia Medina.

Mrs. Medina-Cruz is survived by her husband, Rafael Ruiz Martinez; son, Aurelio Jr. (Vanessa) Cruz; daughters, Martha Veronica Lagos, Claudia Edith (Jesus) Ramirez, Laura Villarreal, Patty (Uriel) Sanchez, Esmeralda (Gustavo) Ayala; grandchildren, Marcos J. Rodriguez, Julian R. Cruz, Erik Verver, Tony Verver, Krystal Verver, Martin Verver, Reynaldo Ramirez, Arturo Ramirez, Ricardo Ramirez, Miracle Zavala, Deserray Zavala, Faith Salazar, Sofia Gonzalez, Marlyn Sanchez, Zayda Sanchez, Ebany Ayala and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at 8:00 a.m. with a rosary at 9:00 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

A graveside service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Zapata County Cemetery.
