ZAPATA, TEXAS---Erasmo Gutierrez 92, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at his residence in Zapata, Texas.

Mr. Gutierrez is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Angel and Clementina Gutierrez; brothers, Porfirio Gutierrez, Adan (Diamantina) Gutierrez, Amando Gutierrez; sisters, Aurora Gutierrez, Irene (Manuel) Hernandez and Maude (Oscar) Ramirez.

Mr. Gutierrez is survived by his wife, Catalina G. Gutierrez; sons, Erasmo (Irma) Gutierrez, Amando (Dr. Delia) Gutierrez; daughters, Juanita (Jose Luis) Garcia, Nidia (Jose Rolando) Guzman, Thelma (Romeo) Benavides, Anavelia (†Aguinaldo, Jr.) Navarro, Maria Rebecca (Lionel) Martinez, Leticia (Dario) Ramos; eighteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; sister, San Juana (Ramiro) Arambula; sisters-in-law, Ofilia Gutierrez, Connie Gutierrez and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

We would like to inform the community that due to Coronavirus (COVID-19), County and State mandates we will be having a private viewing for immediate family members only.

A private graveside service will be held at Zapata County Cemetery.
