EMMA E. (Torres) SALINAS, 87- Our hearts are broken as "The Matriarch" of our family went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 22, 2021. She was born on August 20th to Jose M. Torres and Angelita (Hernandez) Torres in San Ygnacio, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Refugio Salinas Jr. and her son, Hector R. Salinas. She is survived by her daughters, Virginia Garcia and Gloria (Ramon) Capuchino, her grandchildren, Janice C. Salinas, Misael (Tracy) Smiley Garcia, Jr., Hector (Lene) R. Salinas Jr., Kevin A. Garcia, Vincent J. Salinas, Armando Buitron Jr., Matthew E. Garcia, Melissa L. Capuchino and Ramon Capuchino Jr. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Antonio R. Bucio, Jiselle E. Bucio, Mia M. Salinas, Gabriel Salinas and Vincent R. Salinas as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Emma dedicated her life to serving others. She served with her church helping to feed the less fortunate as well as volunteering in her community outreach programs for the elderly. She loved her family and she has left her stamp of faith, love and service to all her children, grandchildren, her great grandchildren and to all the lives she impacted with her generous kind heart. For those of us that were blessed to have been a part of her life, knew her for her wonderful sense of humor. She loved to make people laugh and was always in good spirits. She will be greatly missed and will forever be in our hearts.

She will be carried to her final resting place by her grandsons Misael Garcia Jr., Hector Salinas Jr., Kevin Garcia, Vincent Salinas, Armando Buitron Jr., and Matthew Garcia. Honorary pallbearer will be her great grandson, Antonio Bucio.

Visitation hours will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

A Graveside Service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Zapata County Cemetery.
