After a long and valiant fight, Mrs. Emilia Melida Uribe, passed away peacefully
surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. To those who knew her, she
was a kind and loving person. Her pride and joy were her children and grandchildren,
who are now left behind to cherish and honor her memory. Grandma or granny, as she
was called by her grandchildren along with her children have lost a special person in
their lives.
Emilia enjoyed life to its fullest and her wanderlust led her to her love of travel and
exploring new places. She was a hard worker and worked as an instructional assistant
with the ZCISD in the 80's and then helped her late husband with their furniture
business. One of Emilia's endearing qualities was that she always made sure that
everyone was taken care of before herself.
As mom, grandma, or granny, she was always cooking and indulging her family with her
delicious food especially her enchiladas and rice. It was without a doubt that her rice
was a staple in any family gatherings. As a token of her love for her children and
grandchildren, she was their biggest supporter and fan. She was without fail, present in
their extracurricular activities, awards, ceremonies, and graduations.  Her love for her
family was beyond measure.
Emilia was the daughter of the late Abel and Ramona Elizondo. She is preceded in
death by her beloved husband, Livio C. (LC) Uribe, her parents, Abel and Ramona
Elizondo, in-laws, Jose Maria and Josefina Gutierrez Uribe, brother Sergio Elizondo,
baby sister Melba Nelia Elizondo, nephews Victor and Sergio S. Elizondo, and
sister-in-law, Celia Elizondo. Left behind to honor and cherish her memory are her
loving partner of 28 years, Humberto Gonzalez, Jr., sons, Carlos (Erica) Uribe, Thomas
D. (Dr. Lourdes Arely) Uribe, and daughter, Monica Michelle (Gerardo) Guevara;
grandchildren Cesar Javier (Carla) Uribe, Elenissa Andreana Uribe, Dielka Uribe,
Amelie Uribe, and Isabella Rose Espinoza; brothers Javier (the late Celia) Elizondo and
Miguel (Martha) Elizondo, and sister-in-law Olivia Elizondo; numerous family members
and friends.
Although Emilia has joined her loved ones, she leaves behind a loving legacy that will
continue to be lived through her by her children, grandchildren, and loved ones.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to her doctors, Altus Hospice Services, and
caretakers Maria A. Gonzalez and Maria Mendoza for their unwavering support, love,
and care during her final days.
She will be laid to rest at the Uribe Cemetery in San Ygnacio, Texas. All funeral services
are being handled by Rose Garden Funeral Home, under the direction of Daniel
Gonzalez, director.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, April 30,
2026.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Our Lady of
Lourdes Catholic Church, with burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Uribe Cemetery, San Ygnacio, Texas.
Her love, guidance, and prayers will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in the
countless lives she touched.
