ZAPATA, TEXAS— Elida B. Rodriguez 79, passed away on Sunday,  September 1, 2024, at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo Texas.

Mrs. Rodriguez is preceded in death by parents, Jesus and Romana V. Benavides; brother, Rogelio Benavides; sister, Romana Ester Benavides.

Mrs. Rodriguez is survived by her husband of 56 years the love of her life since the age of 15,  Jesus Rodriguez of 16; son, Jesus "Jesse" Jr. (Myrna) Rodriguez; daughter, Melinda R. (Miguel Angel) Madrigal; grandsons, Miguel Angel Madrigal Jr., Jesus Rodriguez III (Melanie), Miguel Angel Garcia; granddaughter, Makayla Angelique Madrigal; sisters, Carlota B. (†Rodolfo) Morales, Enedina B. (†Lauro) Morales and Enedelia B. (Armando) Rivera  and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours were held on Friday September 6, 2024, from 6:00p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

On Saturday, September 7, 2024, we opened at 8:00 a.m. The funeral procession departed at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. funeral mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services followed at Zapata County Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Rose Garden Funeral Home Daniel A. Gonzalez, Funeral Director, 2102 N. US HWY 83 Zapata, Texas.
