ZAPATA, TEXAS---Elena Gutierrez Saenz 92, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at her residence in Zapata, Texas.

Mrs. Saenz is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Saenz; parents, Castulo and Irene Gutierrez; brother, Heriberto F. Gutierrez and a sister, Yolanda York.

Mrs. Saenz is survived by her children, Diana I. (†Rogelio) Garza, Oscar H. (Cindy) Saenz, Mario Luis Saenz, Lydia (Francisco) Carrillo, David D. (Adalinda) Saenz, Juan Antonio (Debbie Garza) Saenz; twenty-five grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

On Tuesday, April 2, 2024 we will open at 11:00 a.m. and the funeral procession will depart at 1:30 p.m. for a 2:00 p.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
