ZAPATA, TEXAS---David O. Ramirez 64, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018 at his residence in Zapata, Texas.

Mr. Ramirez is preceded in death by his parents, Dagoberto and Ofelia Ramirez; brothers, Derly Ramirez and Dagoberto J. Ramirez.

Mr. Ramirez is survived by his companion of 40 years Maria Elena Sanchez; sons, Pedro Sanchez, III, Ricardo (Kathy) Sanchez; daughters, Delina Ramirez (Angel Cuellar), Darline Y. Ramirez; grandchildren, Derick J. Gonzalez, Jaime Garza, III, Ricardo Sanchez, Jr., Marcos A. Sanchez, Trisha Sanchez, Pedro Sanchez, IV, Jesus A. Sanchez, Connie Lee Sanchez, Roberto Sanchez, Sara Lee Davila, Brandon Davila; sister, Diana M. (Danny) Garza; sister-in-law, Ana P. Ramirez and by numerous nephews, nieces, other family members and friends.

Mr. Ramirez was a graduate of Zapata High School Class of 1973. He was also a former deputy and jailer for Zapata Co. Sheriff's Office, owned David's Card Shop and was a distributor of Lone Star Beer and Tom's.

Visitation hours were held on Thursday, August 9, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a vigil at 7 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession departed on Friday, August 10, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services followed at Zapata County Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made at Rose Garden Funeral Home.
