ZAPATA, TEXAS---Daniel R. "Shorty" Resendez, Jr. 57, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas.

Mr. Resendez is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Onecimo and Margarita Resendez and maternal grandparents, Victor and Maria De Los Santos.

Mr. Resendez is survived by his parents, Daniel R. and Edna Resendez; sisters, Cynthia Resendez, Elva N. Sanchez, Lorena (Anibal Jr.) Salinas; nephews and nieces, Cesar (Sara) Sanchez, Vanessa (Larry) Cisnerno, Victor A. (Rut) Sanchez, Priscilla (Shannon) Robinson, Carlos E. Sanchez, Rebecca A. Salinas, Anibal Salinas, III, Mario A. Salinas and by numerous other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. with a rosary at 11:30 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession will depart at 1:30 p.m. for a 2:00 p.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
