ZAPATA, TEXAS---Daniel De La Garza 53, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at his residence in Zapata, Texas.

Mr. De La Garza is preceded in death by father, Ambrosio De La Garza; son, Maximo De La Garza; paternal grandparents, Ambrosio Jr. and Olivia D. De La Garza; maternal grandparents, Abraham and Josefina Contreras and mother-in-law, Evangelina Garcia.

Mr. De La Garza is survived by his wife, Claudia Garcia; children, Allison Trujillo (Steve), Roel Ramos (Gaby), Raquel Sanchez (Hector), Natalie Chick, Claudia Cuellar, Danielle De La Garza; mother, Olivia C. De La Garza; father-in-law, Amando Garcia; brothers, Ambrose Smith, Alfonso De La Garza (Sandra), Samuel De La Garza (Noraida); seven grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law; Evangelina Gonzalez (Elizardo), Amando Garcia (Eloisa), Josefina Garza (Juan), Sandra Garcia (Alfonso), Veronica Benavides (Ramon), Jose Artemio Garcia and Luis Garcia (Belia Muñoz) and by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Roel Ramos, Jr., Artemio Garcia (Temo), Samuel De La Garza, Alfonso De La Garza, Cici Jose Garcia, Elizardo Gonzalez, Jr., Polo Garcia, Steve Landin and Steve Trujillo.

Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a vigil at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession will depart on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 9:45 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
