ZAPATA, TEXAS Cutberto Vargas 94, passed away on Saturday December 28, 2024, in Zapata Texas.

Mr. Vargas is preceded in death by his wife, Beatriz Vargas; son, Jose Cutberto Vargas, grandson; Jorge Luis Vargas Jr, Saul Vargas; great-grand-daughter Miranda Marie Vargas; brothers and sisters; Raul Garcia, Rogelio Vargas, Noe Vargas, Piedad Vargas, Manuela Ignacia Vargas, Aida Vargas.

Mr. Vargas survived by his sons, Jorge Luis Vargas, Joel Arnulfo Vargas; daughters, Mirtha B. (Luis  L.) Gonzalez, Maria del Refugio (†Jesus) Hi, Marisa E. (Jose J.) Gonzalez, Maria Veronica Vargas, Mabel E. (Herman Guzman) Vargas; grandchildren, Carlos A. Vargas, Natalie Vargas, Nayelie Vargas, Angeline Vargas, Layla M. Gonzalez, Leslie M. Gonzalez, Mayra Y. Hi, Jesus Hi Jr., Tadashi M. Hi, Jose J. Gonzalez, Kevin B. Gonzalez, Michelle Gonzalez, Adolio H. Gomez Jr., Maclovio H. Gomez, Roel I. Gomez, Landon E. Sanchez, Herman Guzman, Jocelyn V. Guzman, Jaelyn J. Guzman, and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Thursday January 2, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a vigil at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

On Friday, January 3, 2024, we will open at 8:00 a.m. the funeral procession will depart at 9:30 a.m. for an 10:00 a.m. funeral mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
