ZAPATA, TEXAS---Crecencio "Chencho" Garcia 89, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Falcon Lake Nursing Home in Zapata, Texas.

Chencho is preceded in death by his parents, Nicolas and Felipa Garcia; brothers, Reymundo Garcia, Nicolas Garcia, Jr.; sisters, Genoveva G. (Gumercindo) Valadez and Amelia G. (Antonio) Guzman.

Chencho is survived by his sister, Marcelina G. (†Amador) Sanchez; sister-in-law, Felipa Garcia and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Chencho is also survived by his extended family Romeo (Rebecca) Ramirez, Norma Y. Ramirez, Laura (Jose Candido) Ramirez, Abel Rene (Francisca) Ramirez, Romeo R. (Marisol) Ramirez, Jr. and our children Ana Katrina Ramirez, J. C. (Alisha) Ramirez, Jr. Romeo R. Ramirez, III, Briana Y. Rendon, Andrea (Mario) Martinez, Rebecca R. Ramirez, Alicia Daniela Ramirez, Anai Ramirez, Abel R. Ramirez, Jr., Rene R. Ramirez, and Lucy Hernandez and their children.

Chencho was a very beloved member of the Ramirez family and will be missed very much. He was loving, caring, and generous to a fault. He did many acts of kindness for the community like paying for groceries if someone was short of cash, giving people rides, buying children candy because he loved children, paying for people to put gas in their cars, giving people money because they didn't have and he wanted to share what he had, and the list goes on. Our hope is that every person whose life was touched in some way will remember and send up a prayer of gratitude for his eternal rest. We know in our hearts that he is already with our Father because of all his good deeds. Descansa en Paz, Chencho, ahora ya estas con tu Mama para que te cocine como tu lo recordabas. Te queremos mucho y te agradecemos toda tu ayuda cuando los niños estaban chiquitos. Nosotros sabemos que seguirás viendo por ellos desde el cielo.

We would like to thank the Falcon Lake Nursing Home staff and Mary Plattner, FNP for the excellent care given to Chencho. Our eternal gratitude for giving him love, patience, and care.

We would like to inform the community that due to Coronavirus (COVID-19), County and State mandates a private graveside service will be held at Zapata County Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rose Garden Funeral Home Daniel A. Gonzalez, Funeral Director, 2102 N. US HWY 83 Zapata, Texas.
