ZAPATA, TEXAS--- Carlos "Chale" Garcia 73, passed away on Saturday July 27, 2024, at his residence in Zapata Texas.

Mr. Garcia is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Maria Consuelo Garcia; brother, Octavio Garcia; sister, Patricia G. Thatcher (Armando Aguirre).

Mr. Garcia is survived by the mother of his children, Juanita Garcia; son, Carlos (San Juanita) Garcia; daughters, Karla (Carlos) Garay, Melinda Garcia (Daniel Contreras), Sandra (Manuel) Montes; Nancy Ibarra, Beatriz (Javier) Sanchez; twenty grandchildren; and two great grandchildren, brothers, Derly (Nicky) Garcia, Eugenio (Sylvia) Garcia; Marco Antonio Garcia;  sisters, Evangelina (Isidro) Padilla, Arlina († Derly) Thatcher, Belinda (Juan Ned) Garza, Mirtha Garcia (Juan Villarreal) and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours were held on Wednesday July 31, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  Funeral procession departed at 1:30 p.m. for a 2:00 p.m. funeral mass at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in San Ygnacio Tx.

A graveside service was held on Thursday August 1, at 10:00 a.m. at Panteon del Pueblo in San Ygnacio Tx. including full Military Honors by the Zapata County Color Guard.
