SAN YGNACIO, TEXAS---Captain Andres Botello 66, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 in Jim Hogg County, Texas.

Mr. Botello is preceded in death by his parents, Humberto and Paula Botello and brothers, Humberto Botello Jr. and Francisco Botello.

Mr. Botello is survived by his wife, Virginia Botello; sons, Andres Botello Jr., Jesus Botello; daughters, Janet Botello, Andrea Botello, Celica Y. (Daniel) Delgado, Celina Y. Botello; grandchildren, Christopher Cruz, Camila Cruz, Caylanie Botello, Andric J. Gonzalez, Juan A. Gonzalez III, Alyssa N. Botello, Alynna Y. Botello; sisters, Adriana Botello, Alejandra Botello, Maricela Hernandez (Ambrocio Garza), Lourdes (Luis) Arcos; sister-in-law, Martha V. Botello and by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

We will depart 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Panteon Del Pueblo in San Ygnacio, TX.

Mr. Andres Botello was a retired firefighter/EMS who was very well known by numerous people for his hard work ethics. Capt. Andres Botello retired from the Zapata Co. Fire Dept. on August 29, 2019 after working for 34yrs. Although he was enjoying retirement life and the opportunity of spending more time with family, Andres knew he couldn't give up his profession of 34yrs. just like that. His heart belonged in the work environment where he did what he loved best, providing a helping hand to people in need. Capt. Botello continued working for Victorious Care Ambulance Service after retirement, where he had been working part-time for almost numerous yrs. His outstanding work ethics never went unnoticed.

Andres had one profession, but many talents. Capt. Botello was known as "Mr. Fix It" especially by his colleagues at the ZCFD. Nothing was ever complicated for Capt. Botello as he knew how to fix just about anything.  When Capt. Botello wasn't busy attending to people in the community, he dedicated his spare time to uplifting the ZCFD with his carpentry skills. His amazing carpentry skills and creative talents helped Capt. Botello achieve many projects at the ZCFD throughout his career. From outdoor employee lockers to custom-made bunkbeds just to name a few, Capt. Botello helped to make the ZCFD feel like a home away from home and for that his partners will always be thankful. Andres had a passion for completing carpentry projects above many other things.

Andres was more than a firefighter, EMS, and carpenter. Andres was a husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, godfather, brother-in-law, a friend, and even a compadre too. Andres had many nicknames: Andrew, Andy, Papa, Pa, Daddi, Tio Papes, and Padrino just to name a few. Calling Andres by his nickname was a privilege to those who knew him well. Andres was a man with a heart of gold and an incredible personality. His unique morals made him more than just a great person. Andres was a very happy person with a happy attitude. He was very lovable, caring, full of joy, outgoing, energetic, encouraging, and had a heartwarming touch. Andres enjoyed life to the fullest and was always motivated. He was also a very silly person who always made people laugh with his good sense of humor. Andres really enjoyed keeping people company and making random jokes while carrying on a conversation. Time was endless when talking to Andres as he really enjoyed carrying on argumentative conversations all while making people fill the room with laughter. He was never seen mad or upset as that wasn't who he was. He assured to always brighten people's day with his greetings. And because of his personality he was loved by so many.

Andres was loved wherever he went because his personality made people feel so comfortable and welcoming. His "Good Mornings", "Hello, Hello, Hello's" "Bye, Bye, Bye" and "Love you, Love you, Luuvvv youuuu" were just a few ways he always greeted people. Andres always filled people's hearts with joy. Nevertheless, Andres gave the most warming hugs and he treated everyone like family. Andres always made people's birthdays extra special by singing the "Happy Birthday" song using his loud angelic voice all while ending it with "and many more on channel 4 and Scooby doo on channel 2" which he sang with so much joy.

Although Andres left this earth too soon and very unexpectedly, he will be remembered by many and will always carry a special place in our hearts forever. We will especially miss his touching personality and how he empowered the world with his never-ending talents.
