ZAPATA, TX---Armando Briseño went home to the Lord Jesus Christ on July 4, 2019 at the age of 82. Mr. Briseño is preceded in death by his parents, Serafin and Trinidad Briseño; his brother, Baldomero Briseño: his step-son, Dennis Moran.

He is remembered with love by his wife, Marcelina M. Briseño; step-daughters, Jane B. Jones, Jean A. Robles, Toni L. Moran; Grandchildren, Danny Maxwell, Brian Lee,  Maile (Gary) Hernandez,  Marie Carter, April Williams, Patricia Green, Dora Clemmons, sister, Margarita  Ramos; brothers, Atilano Briseño, Juventino Briseño, and Fernando Briseño; nephews, Rolando Ramos, Roel Ramos, nieces, Irasema Briseño; Cristina Briseño, Diana Ramos, and Sylvia Ramirez,  seven great-grandchildren, and  numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.

Armando was born on December 6, 1936 in Old Guerrero, Tamaulipas, Mexico.  He started working with his father at a young age and developed a strong work ethic that he maintained his entire life.  He moved to California in the 1960's and worked as a foreman in construction for over 35-years.  He was also a self-taught architect designing and constructing several homes including his dream home at Ranchito Tepozan.

Armando was devoted to his wife, Marcelina "Hilda" Briseño of 49 years. He kept close ties to his family in Guerrero and invited his nephews, Rolando and Roel to live with his family in California and learn the construction trade. Armando also loved being a grandfather, first to Danny, Maile, and Brian, and later to his foster grandchildren, Marie (Agnes), April, Patricia, Anika and Johnny (Lupito) , Ashley Marie, Anahy Genesis, Patricia Conception, Amy Natasha, Ana Stephanie and Dora.

Armando was devoted to our Lord, Jesus Christ, and shared the gospel at every opportunity. Since 1975 when he accepted Jesus into his heart, he has brought together pastors and community members to worship God. He also served as a pastor during the past 40-years and through his musical ministry shared his love for the Lord through music.

Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. A Chapel Service will be at 11 a.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
