ZAPATA, TEXAS---Andres Jesus "Andy" Arambula, 74, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, TX.

Andres is preceded in death by his parents, Cayetano and Tomasa Dominguez Arambula, maternal grandparents, Juvencio and Librada Dominguez, paternal grandparents, Andres and Toribia Arambula and son in law, Zaragoza Rodriguez, IV.

Andres was born on June 8, 1947 in Laredo, TX. He grew up in San Ygnacio, TX. He married Minerva Bustamante from Bustamante, TX on February 21, 1967 and they had three wonderful children.  Andres was a very family-oriented person who loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter so much. He was very involved in all his family's extra-curricular activities.  Anything that his family wanted, he was always there for them one hundred percent.  Andres worked for the oil and gas industry for 50 years.  He was a very well-known farrier/horseshoer for over 30 years. He also owned and trained racehorses back in the 1980's and 1990's. Because of his love of horses, he instilled that love in his wife and children, taking them to horseraces every weekend during horseracing season. Andres loved traveling; therefore, he would take his family to many places on vacation and then he and his wife traveled alone after their children were grown up.  He also loved hunting and all his trophy deer are mounted and are displayed proudly at his home. Their most favorite place to visit was Ruidoso Downs, NM.  That had been their annual Labor Day weekend trip for 25 plus years. Andres will always be remembered to his family and friends as a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, hard worker, humble, devoted and faithful person. He was a true catholic. He served as a lector for more than 20 years and was constantly watching daily mass online.

Andres is survived by his wife of 55 years, Minerva Bustamante Arambula, daughter, Veronica (Ruben Jr.) Cavazos, son, Andres Jesus (Andy) Arambula Jr. (Teresa L. Garcia) daughter, Maria Tomasita (Tammy) Rodriguez (Alfonso Rivera), grandsons, Ruben Rene Cavazos III (Mayra Martinez), Jesus Daniel Cavazos (Alejandra Anguiano) Daniel Arturo Rodriguez, granddaughters, Alynna Lizette Arambula, Anissa Isabel Arambula, Nadina Isabella Rodriguez and Roxana Andrea Rodriguez, great-granddaughter, Katalina Roxana Cavazos, twin brother, Alberto Jose Arambula, nephews, Arturo and Alberto Arambula Jr., and niece, Dr. Claudia Arambula, sisters in law, Blanca (Aureliano) Salinas and Maria Concepcion (Oscar) Villarreal and by numerous family and friends.

Pallbearers will be: Ruben Rene Cavazos III, Jesus Daniel Cavazos, Daniel Arturo Rodriguez, Alfonso Rivera, Zaragoza Rodriguez III, Alberico Salinas, Eduardo Bustamante and Corando Barrera.

Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a vigil at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Funeral Home.

The funeral procession will depart on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 9:45 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
